Kurz (Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Graz, Austria and fellow of the Graz Schumpeter Centre). He is the co-founder and co-editor of The European Journal of the History of Economic Thought and was the chair of the Council of the European Society for the History of Economic Thought (ESHET) for six years. He has published numerous works with Routledge, including Studies in the History of French Political Economy: From Bodin to Walras (1998) and The Foundations of Laissez-Faire: The Economics of Pierre de Boisguilbert (1999). Gilbert has extensively published in the history of economic thought, especially on classical political economy, Marx, Sraffa, and French political economy from the Enlightenment to WWI.
